DAVID S. LORENZI
David S. Lorenzi passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, January 31, 2010. Son of Donald (deceased) and Dona Lorenzi; brother of Gayle Lorenzi Kolterman (Orville), Karen Kaufmann (John), and Barbara Dobberthien; and uncle of nine nieces and nephews.
Dave passed suddenly at his home. He was born in Fort Lee, Virginia to Don and Dona. He was brother and lifelong friend to Gayle, Karen and Barb. To his nine nieces and nephews, Uncle Dave was the one who got them in trouble at the dinner table, but was eager to help them get out of any real trouble life tossed their way. He will be greatly missed by a large extended family and innumerable friends.
Life was an adventure which he was eager to share with everyone he could. He had a quick wit and lively spirit, and was always ready to joke, sing, dance or tell good fishing story. Dave served in the Air Force and earned his BA from George Mason Univ. "Diamond Dave" spent 25 years dispatching and driving a cab - a job that let him enjoy people in a way few ever get to experience.
He was a man of intellect, integrity, compassion with a great sense of humor. A voracious reader who always had a million stories to share. He was an avid sports fan who had the uncanny ability for exact recall of player stats and team accomplishments but fishing was his greatest joy.
Dave had a place in each of our lives. He left us with fond memories, great stories and witticisms that were uniquely his.
A Memorial Service will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22032 on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
